A Hopeful Lament

Messenger send me away to a better place
Carry me far on flat panes of orange
Take me away until the heart attack
And I'll lie away from you
White hot rivets
Lock away your silhouette
I stare at you through street vendors
You're my cocaine, and I need my fix
So lay me down on my bed of broken windows
And feel the right horizon tear itself from what's wrong
Let me cure this itch that's worthless
and watch my green meadows burn to ashes

Wonderfully done
Bravo!
Short, powerful, real
