I revise, rewrite, edit and delete more than ever before, so much so that, ever since Koko, I see self-editing as crucial to the process as the initial writing.


I was always dazzled by the power of the inescapably suggestive and accurate word, I couldn't figure out how the writer knew enough to use it when so many other and more familiar approximations clouded the mental screen, and I have never stopped trying to do the same.
