Firstly, great title - strong and intriguing. Don't really understand the fuss about the first line/para, it says 'summer' and 'lovers' to me. You have slotted the brief flashbacks into the action...

It took me a couple of reads to appreciate the rhythm here. I do like the rhyming style, the clever use of words (chat-chit) and the imagery. A nice piece to read on the first day of spring

I tend to agree with Verm, there are numerous sites that will tear your work into tiny pieces if that is what writers want.
Having said that, critisism is essential if we are to improve...

Very funny, the story is developing nicely and I agree with Vermithrax about the effectiveness of the multi-first-person-narrative, (whatever that means, Verm is such a scholar...)
