As the farmer waits For the harvest After sowing the seeds. As a woman waits Through her gestation To become a mother. As the dry earth waits For the heaven to shower And make it green. So am I waiting here Hoping that someday sometime You’ll break your silence. As I wait more and more The more the love prolongs. As it prolongs more and more Love’s life line lengthens… Is it not worth the wait?

Welcome to the Den, minew. My standard poetry disclaimer: I'm rather old fashioned when it comes to poetry: I actually favor Poe, Marvel, Coleridge, Wilde, and the Roberts Frost and Service, to give you some idea. To me, even free verse should have a flow and rhythm when read aloud to distinguish it from spoken prose. When reading a poem, you should almost hear the music that would make it a song. And, while poetic license allows some deviations from proper language, there are limits. The term “free verse” is an oxymoron: verse implies form, format, and pattern; free just the opposite. “Free verse” is just a euphemism for prose that ignores the rules of syntax. While such writing can be as excellent, effective, and meaningful as any other, the term is frequently just an excuse for poor writing. That said, this is a well written piece of structured prose. Whether the wait is worth it or not? Ah, that's a question only the narrator can answer -- and by the time he/she has an answer, it won't matter because the waiting will have already been done. Write on.
Well, do you think it is worth the wait? Cool
