A decade and a few days apart: my backpack and bound textbooks; the walking hours in the city and the early lectures sooner. They used to call my ancestors primitive but I claim no historical justice; The zipper of my backpack no longer works and I haven't been sleeping well. The seamstress tells me it needs a new one and I haven't been earning well. Her people used to call mine primitive but I speak none of cultural trivia. A decade and a few days apart: my seamstress' birthday and mine; the promising hours of childhood and the early nausea sooner.

An interesting observation. You could expand this a bit if it suits your whim.
