Do you know what it feels like to love someone to the extent of loosing yourself... and is it truly worth it?

Our worlds collided at the speed of light, From that moment there was no other who could hinder my sight, We evolved into one being without much force, You soon became my life source, Lost in each other we passed the time, Each day bringing something new to this happiness so divine, I couldn't see the storm approaching ahead, The sadness, the horror, the utmost dread, I was lost without you not having you near, It was like I was living my worst fear, With each new dawn I drowned a little deeper, Losing myself, my soul slowly to the grim reaper, And as each night brought the shine of the moon, I slowly released myself from this cocoon, My head, my heart, my body, my soul, Without any resistance I had given to you whole, Little by little i realized what had to be done, Was time for me to regain my inner sun, That light that once shone in me I now had to find, That light that I gave you once I would now reclaimed as mine, I loved you for so long that I forgot what I had to do, That before I could love anyone else, I had to stop loving you, Letting you go was the hardest thing I had to face, But my heart now needs this saving grace, Little by little with each day passed, That love that I felt is slowly melting away at last, Although the truth would be that a part of me would always belong to you, It is now my time for me to start loving myself too.

-- Worlds collide without much force?

This very well-written except for the opening.
